Monument Valley is still one of the most critically-acclaimed and popular mobile games out there. It is also one of the more unique puzzle games available, for those of you who are already “jaded” when it comes to the various games of its genre that are repetitive and eventually get boring. The only complaint about this game is that it is too short. But they keep adding chapters, so that’s a relief. The latest update brings the heroine Ida’s Dream Chapter.

Originally, this new chapter was created for charity last year, specifically for Project RED and to raise money for the organization, it was an in-app purchases for Monument Valley. But now, it will become available for free for everyone who has the game. But only those who purchased the extra chapter will be able to enjoy the red-colored version. Just like the previous chapters, you’ll guide Ida as she goes through the intricate puzzle by manipulating the sliders and buttons and geographical shapes.

According to the Director of Games for developer ustwo, Neil McFarland, after this new (and probably final) chapter, they will now be focusing on future games, including the upcoming virtual reality story adventure experience Land’s End. While it is sad that there might be no more future Monument Valley chapters, at least we can look forward to more similar or even more challenging games from ustwo.

If you’ve already purchased Monument Valley before, you’ll get Ida’s Dream Chapter for free. If you’re about to buy it now from the Google Play Store for $3.99, the new chapter will already be included. But if you want to get the app and the chapter for free for a limited time only, you can download it from the Amazon App Store.

  1. The game is indeed really fun and original. However, it is not worth $3.99 when it takes 40 minutes to beat. Then having to purchase more chapters is even worse. Glad they are giving away a chapter for free though.
