This month started with a teaser of what is believed to be the Vivo X5Pro. What’s special about this smartphone is the retina scanner based on the images we saw earlier which also means an enhanced phone security. Vivo, a Chinese phone manufacturer, has been very aggressive lately introducing phones that can be on par with the latest ones from the more popular brands.
We’ve seen the Vivo X5Max (thinnest at the time) which was quickly followed by the Vivo X5Max+. In the coming weeks, we’re expecting to see the Vivo X5Pro phone still ultra-thin and with Hi-Fi capabilities and with the new iris scanner for a more secure authentication.
The guys at Vivo hope to bring the phone to the US because they believe the Vivo X5Pro offers more than just a beautiful design. Drawing inspiration from water, the Vivo X5Pro features a continuous flow of design and a 2.5D curved tempered glass screen from Corning which was finished after hours of cutting, polishing, processing, and screen printing. Vivo has carefully spent minute details on this smartphone to come up with an unmatched texture and display screen.
Vivo has used aircraft-grade magnesium alloy as enclosure. After minutes of CNC processing technology plus some more for anodizing and oxidation, the result is a perfectly shaped curved with the perfect texture and color. The arc of the phone is beautiful and you’d agree that Vivo has spent a lot of time on the product. Vivo even made the inner space of the glass thinner by 0.5mm compared to the X5 so it’s now only 5.0mm. The company used a special coating to produce a sapphire-like and crystal clear display.
We don’t have much details on the specs but we know the Vivo X5Pro, at least the 32GB model, will be available this coming May 25 with a price tag that reads $435 or 2698 RMB in China.
