DashClock Widget

There may be dozens to hundreds of clock and timer apps available on the Google Play Store but only a few have caught our attention. One worthy app was the DashClock Widget app released in 2013. Its developer Roman Nurik last updated the app in December of the same year and launched another app, the Muzei live wallpaper, in February 2014. Since then, we didn’t hear from him until another update for the DashClock is ready. Yep, the widget is now back with some Material Design and Android Lollipop sweetness.

The updated DashClock still shows information you really need: missed calls, unread text messages, next calendar appointment, current local weather, next scheduled alarm, unread Gmail inbox, or priority inbox conversations. The latest version is still in beta mode but you can download it from APK Mirror or just join the DashClock Widget community on Google+.

Some notable changes include the expansion of the appearance screen into a split-pane interface. All options are now up front too. Other third-party apps can now see your Dashclock information as a new option. This Version 1.7 Beta 1 basically adds special upport for third-party extension hosts and brings Material design update for settings.

The DaskClock Widget app is developed by Roman Nurik, an Android Developer Advocate at Google. His apps DashClock and Muzei are not official apps from the Android team but they’re from an official Android developer so you know they’re good having been developed with Android design principles in mind.
