Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.0 Lollipop

Never doubted the Galaxy Note 4 is getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop. It’s just a matter of waiting for the official rollout from mobile carriers and in different countries. We’ve seen a preview already and that it after being updated to Android 5.0, it will soon receive the Android 5.0.1 version. A couple of months ago, the sweet update was received in Poland and just last week, AT&T’s Galaxy Note 4 got the Lollipop as well.

In the US, Verizon Wireless has just released the Lollipop update (Version: LRX22C.N910VVRU1BOAF). The new OS update brings the latest Material Design elements, more complex animations, enhanced runtime, improved notifications, 3D views, and 64-bit ABI support. Lollipop also allows your Galaxy Note 4 to connect with more devices likes wearables, cars, and TV’s.

With Material Design, the Galaxy Note gets an updated style, bolder colors, better interactions, and fluid animation effects. Also updated were action pop-ups and the On/Off toggle button style. Smart Lock and new notifications were included and now you can set privacy and notifications on the lock screen. Other minor changes include the volume controls moving up to first menu depth,‘Sound’ text changed to ‘Sound and notification’, Blocking mode’ replaced with ‘Do not disturb’.

Once your Verizon Galaxy Note 4 is updated, you can see a floating action button (+) while inside some apps that comply to Material Design principles. Clicking on it will reveal options to write a new message, add a new event, or add a contact. You’ll also notice some improvements on Samsung applications like the S Health getting opaque widgets and Galaxy Essentials now with a Galaxy Gifts button at the bottom of Galaxy Essentials list. Even the Google Search Widget appears to be opaque. Verizon has also added the ‘Advanced Calling 1.0’ menu to Settings. The keypad has been updated to match the new and bolder look of the Android Lollipop design.

In another part of the world, Samsung also decided to update the Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Note 4 units (model SM-N910G) in India can now be updated to Lollipop once you receive an OTA notification. You can also go straight to the Settings> About phone> Software updates to see if the Lollipop is ready for your Note 4.
