Since the Android Device Manager was introduced more than two years ago, this feature has been very useful in helping millions of Android device owners become more productive than ever. This simple management tool allows the owner to secure and locate Android devices that are missing. The past few years, the Android Device Manager has been updated with improved security and guest mode among others for a better experience.

About 30 million lost phones and tablets have been found and reunited with their owners. That’s a lot of mobile devices being lost or stolen but good thing the Android Device Manager was able to help locate and secure them even if not always accurate and just an approximate.

Google recently made an important update to the Android Device Manager that makes it more useful than ever. Android Wear support has been added to the program. This means you can locate your lost phone using your Android Wear-powered smartwatch strapped on your wrist.

With Android Device Manager, connect your smartwatch to your phone. When the latter is missing, access the program to find your phone. How to find your phone? Say ‘Ok, Google. Start. Find my phone.’. You can also just choose in the Start menu, the ‘Find my phone’ option. Android Device Manager will search for the phone and contact it and with a loud ring, you’ll be able to find the device.

This feature will be enabled in all Android Wear devices very soon. Update will roll out in the next few days.
