An earlier leak was suggesting US Cellular had plans to increase data limits for shared plans. And as of today, those changes have been confirmed. In a statement provided to Fierce Wireless, US Cellular spokesperson Katie Frey said the lower-end plans will be getting “more data for the same price.”

This change will deal with the $40, $50 and $60 per month plans. The $40 plan will go from 300MB to 1GB, the $50 plan will go from 1GB to 2GB, and the $60 plan will go from 2GB to 3GB. Frey also confirmed these plans would retain the unlimited voice and messaging, as well as ability to tether.

Along with these changes, US Cellular will be offering a new $60 single-line plan on a promotional basis. This new plan will include unlimited voice and messaging with 1GB of data. Keep in mind, this promotional plan is for a single-line, as opposed to the shared options mentioned earlier in the post.

Otherwise, looking back on US Cellular and it seems they have been keeping up in terms of updates. The carrier began offering Android 4.4.2 for the Galaxy Note 3 in February. The Moto X Kit Kat update also began rolling out in February. Aside from this latest plan change, US Cellular last introduced plan changes back towards the end of January. For reference, that was a new and lower-priced no-contract plan.
