Verizon announced plans to launch the HTC One max, however they were rather quiet when it came to specifics. Basically, Big Red had said the handset would be coming in time for the holiday shopping season but offered nothing in terms of a specific release date or price. We saw details of the price leak yesterday and it looks like that has been confirmed.

With little fanfare, Verizon has released the HTC One max this morning. The handset has arrived priced at $299.99 with a two-year agreement. In addition, the HTC One max is $599.99 for those going month-to-month or $25.22 for those looking to make monthly payments under the Verizon Edge upgrade program.

Regardless of which payment option you choose, the handset is the same. That is to say you will be getting a handset with a 5.9-inch Full HD display that is powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. There is also 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 64GB in size, 3300 mAh battery, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5.5. The camera setup includes a 2.1 megapixel on the front and an UltraPixel camera with f/2.0, 28mm wide angle lens on the back.

Other perks here include a display that is protected by Gorillla Glass, 4G LTE connectivity and some HTC specifics including BoomSound via the front-facing speakers, BlinkFeed and HTC Zoe which captures 20 images and a 3-second video and transforms it into something that can easily be shared with friends and family.

Of course, one of the more talked about aspects of the HTC One max is the fingerprint reader on the back. This sits just below the camera lens and will allow the user to lock and unlock the handset. That all having been said, those looking for a bit more information can head to our HTC One max hub and also our earlier published review.
