C Spire Wireless announced the upcoming availability of the HTC One back in mid-June. At the time they mentioned how “more details would be shared in the near future.” Well, it looks like that near future timeline has finally arrived and as of today, the HTC One is available with C Spire.
The handset has arrived priced at $199.99 with a two-year agreement and will be available online and with all C Spire Wireless retail stores. Those planning to make a purchase will be able to pair the handset with the new unlimited plans which range in price from $50, to $80 and top out at $100 per month.
While the specs remain the same as what we have seen with other carrier branded HTC One models, the C Spire version does have a few add-on apps that are pre-installed. The apps include Text CS and WiFiON. The first is a customer service app and the second will help you find WiFi hotspots while out and about. The WiFiON app will help you to connect with a network of more than 12 million hotspots.
Otherwise, the HTC One sports a 4.7-inch 1080p display (at 468ppi) with a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 2300 mAh battery and Jelly Bean with the Sense user interface on top. As we have seen, the Sense user interface means goodies such as BlinkFeed and BoomSound as well as Sense TV and Zoe.
Basically, the release of the HTC One just further rounds out the carrier availability. Of course, many will realize we are still waiting on word from one carrier. That carrier is Verizon who done little more than launch a coming soon style teaser page with word the handset would arrive sometime this summer.
