The Galaxy S4 announcement may be coming up soon, however that doesn’t mean the leaks and rumors will stop. In fact, it looks some additional Galaxy S4 details have recently leaked. Keep in mind, these details are not official until we get the word from Samsung. But on that note, this latest leak does include a few pieces we hope to see come true. Just to begin with, we are now talking floating touch, a green PHOLED display and more.
Lets kick things off with the green PHOLED display. Aside from a rather interesting sounding name — this could mean a nicer display to look at and also slightly better battery life due to its efficiency. Apparently the green PHOLED technology will be about 25 percent more efficient as compared to the previous Galaxy S display.
The other interesting bit is the floating touch technology. This is expected to be similar to what we have seen on the Xperia Sola smartphone. Basically, you will be able to sort of hover over the display without actually touching it. One potential use would be to hover your finger over an image gallery to get a preview of the pics on the inside.
Coming with this latest round is also some additional talk of the Samsung Orb. This looks to be a 360 degree camera feature, which will basically be the Samsung version of Photosphere. Otherwise the Galaxy S4 is expected to launch with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and receive an update to 4.2.2 “in the same month of release.” As for the update, lets just say those picking this up with a US carrier — you may want to get used to 4.2.1 and not count on an upgrade quite that soon.

I will love plastic/polycarbonate Galaxy SIV.
I will love 10X more times metal Galaxy SIV.
The “4” on SAMSUNG posters-teasers look suspiciously METAL.
Let’s hope SAMSUNG is smart enough to make WOW design.
Black or white? Probably black for me.
32/64/128Gb? 128Gb.
4GB. With unlimited data, there’s no need for more.
I’m holding out for the PhoShoLED.
4,2.1, it’s already not up to date upon release, tsk tsk tsk. I’d rather they wait the month to make sure that they’re coming with the latest software and send a message along with it that they hope to support it through a few more upgrades efficiently.
Being the galaxy S, rest assured getting the update means you’ll be getting it very quickly. Hell, my S3 is going to be getting the update to 4.2 as soon as the S4 lands in April, unlocked and the international version. If Samsung manage to update it to Android 5.0 to 2014, that’ll be worth the 2 years of updates and all the shelf life given to the legend that is the S3.
Flexible 1080p display=Check Exynos 5 Octa processor in the United States clocked at 1.8ghz=Check Wireless Charging=Check And the KICKER: The Galaxy S4 will as a bonus have a pad that will enable the device owner to measure blood pressure, and blood sugar levels as well as other signs regarding health. The monitoring of certain physiological signs would definitely represent an useful application for all customers from children to the elderly. The overall versatility of the Galaxy S4 will revolutionize the gadget market in 2013.The rest I have NO COMMENT.
Congratulations. You’ve just brought stupidity to a whole new level. In order for a device to measure “blood sugar levels”, a person’s blood has to touch a sensor on the device, that then analyzes it and determines sugar levels. Can’t wait till you’re proved wrong given that 1) by and large, the only people who need blood sugar monitors are diabetics, and 2) health concerns will undoubtedly be raised since millions of smartphone owners would then have blood somewhere on their device, not to mention the general education of those millions of people on how/when to use such a “feature”.
You obviously have no brain power to come up with something so ridiculous.
Mr. Think he know’s everything…Can’t help but laugh at you’re trolling ways from site to site. What difference does it matter to you regarding the Galaxy S4?? It’s not like you will be purchasing it so why worry?? Your just wasting time and space on various sites respnding to whatever comments I leave. What a wasted life you actually live things must be pretty bad for you as a adult and I do use the term losely. What grown man calls himself squiddy20 and what grown man hides and trolls people comments on the internet but don’t have the guts to be a man like everyone else on this site. Let the world see your real name that matches that pitiful ugly face of yours. You’re a coward and a punk.
Please. Though novel, putting a blood glucose monitor on smartphones is just plain dumb, for the reasons I mentioned above, and it doesn’t take someone who “think he know’s everything” (good spelling btw) to understand why. People are squeamish enough as it is about germs and viruses. How do you think they’d react to average everyday smartphones potentially having blood on them? Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the flaw in your little “theory”.
“Your just wasting time and space on various sites respnding to whatever comments I leave.” I could say the same of you, hypocrite. How stupid are you?
It will be awesome if the new Galaxy S4 is even more energy efficient than the S3. It would make sense to have a better screen type, but that would also allow a 1080p display to work without so much strain on the battery. The commute to and from work at DISH takes some time, so I like that I can keep up with all of my live and recorded shows on the way. I can do this with the DISH Anywhere app, which allows me to stream when and where I want from my DVR, so it would be great to see my shows on a higher resolution display.
