Only two months after its introduction as sibling of the Xperia E4, the Sony Xperia E4g is now available. We mentioned back in February that the Android phone will be out this April and Sony kept its promise. Well, we still have no information when and where we can get this here in the United States but the model has already been listed by ePrice in China and Expansys in the UK. North America should be receiving the phone in the next few days or weeks.
This unit impresses us with Full 4G band connectivity. You can’t go wrong with the price of £109.99 (about $163). Still more expensive than the Sony Xperia E4 but the extra ‘g’ referring to 4G is more than welcome. This makes it among the lowest 4G phones in the market today.
To review, here are the specs of the Sony Xperia E4g: 4.7-inch touch display, low resolution at only 540 x 960, Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6732 processor, microSD for expansion up to 32GB, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, a 2MP front-facing camera, and a 2300 mAh battery.
Sony Xperia E4g is available in two colors only: black and white. Out of the box, the phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat. The answer to the question if it can be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop is “No”. Sony made it clear last month they are not upgrading non-Xperia Z models to the latest version of Android.
