Smudgy pictures be damned: what we want is HQ footage of the Samsung I7500 to a storming foreign-language rock track.  Happily just such a thing has dropped into our laps, courtesy of Tinhte.com, showing off the I7500’s 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen to perfection.

The smartphone also looks decidedly thin, and the design of the hardware buttons at the base is very slick.  If you’ve been waiting for the first “mainstream” Android device – thinking HTC’s offerings to-date have been a little too “business” in their design – then the Samsung I7500 could be the device for you.

No new news on specifications, but there’s not much about the I7500’s hardware that we don’t know.  The display runs at 320 x 480 resolution, and the Samsung has GPS, HSPA, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.  Internal storage is 8GB, with a microSD slot for up to 32GB cards.  More details here.

  4. Alright AC! finally gettin back ontop of the news... this video def makes me want this phone...
  5. Can't see the video. It says that the video is private. Doh!
  6. Super-frustrating, the video has been made private
  7. i really hope this phone comes in white as well... i bought a bunch of white accesories for my white g1 and i kinda want it all to match...(lol silly i know)
  8. That video is private - I WANNA SEEE!!!
  9. aww the vid is now private? well at least I lucked out and got to see it once...

i know right? and hopefully it will be similar to the plasctic of the white g1.(doesnt show scratches or fingerprints. and doesnt get dingy...)
  11. New version of the video is live - I've updated the link and hopefully it should play.

You may need to refresh/hard-refresh/clear cache and load again

this is what i have been waiting for... all the specs i could have asked for in an Android phone...(except of the physical kb but can be to picky)

from what i have seen so far im in love...
  14. yeah that would be on my only "complaint" - the physical kb

you're telling me! I saw this beauty yesterday and since then am seriously considering buying an unlocked phone lol

unless of course, tmo offers this phone and I just extend my contract for oh idk, another 10 years??

    hehe

the sad thing for me is i extend my contract all the time so getting it under another contract would be still close to the unlocked price...

  16. how does that work? do they automatically add 2 years to your contract from said date of new purchase?

yup.... if you buy online you add 2yrs from that day and its about 40 bucks cheaper than buying it new.... lol thats why i need it to be around $400 so i can pick it up for $360!

damn just 40 bucks? I might as well just pay the full price instead of give'n 'em another 2 years of my life!

well seeing that im not on a family plan tmo is probably the only service i will be using until i get a family... so even if i want under a contract i still would be with them.... so might as well take advantage of the "savings."

here's my thinking...android is gaining more attention, and phone companies are already noticing (hence samsung, for ex.)...but as we know, we don't really know until after the fact who is going to carry said phone...

  26. I re-encoded the video and added commentaries - pointing out certain features of the Samsung i7500.
  27. i finally was able to watch the vid and i noticed that didnt look like a usb charger on top... i hope im wrong about that...
  28. wow great vide, i like the phone i think its sexy but i really like having a real keyboard not a vk

anyways about the boost, u dont have to settle for just the boost phones u can grab any nextel and make it boost
i like that they included direct connect in the unlimited plan
my brother has a real nice black with blue nextel on boost

and a friend has an even nicer nextel with windows mobile

    yup its a usb

the ones on our phones are MINI usb

and the one on that phone is a MICRO usb

most (if not all) new motorolas are gonna come out with MICRO usb alot of new phones are gonna have MICRO usb too
  30. all I noted was the price of boost plans, which I adore....around here $50 gets you unlimited calls/text/internet

i wish i could do a screen shot of the vid(im at work) but it almost looks like samsung's notorious proprietary-usb connection...

so to clarify i can use my g1 charger with this... right?

I know. And around here that's a STEAL!
  33. no your not gettin it lazy they are two totally different ports even though they are usb

the micro usb is smaller than the mini usb

think of it as having a micro sd card (the ones we have) and a mini sd card (the ones that sidekicks have)
  34. great, and here I thought the U in USB stood for universal

so, one would have to have another wire?
  35. yeah the only downside to boost unlimited is that its regional, what i mean by that is that its only unlimited in your city or area. you have to pay more to increase your coverage area but if u dont travel much then its great. most large cities have a boost unlimited plan and its 50 dollard unlimited everything

  37. heres a picture of the two ports THE ONE ON THE LEFT IS A MINI USB AND THE ONE ON THE RIGHT IS A MICRO USB (ADAPTER) so lets hope they ship them out with an adapter lol

god no! not more cursed adapters!!!!!!!!
  40. I really want to get this phone.
This phone is a total upgrade from the Magic.
Its specs are better than the g1, cept it doesnt have a hardware keyboard. I dont really mind virtual keyboards since Im always lazy to open up the keyboard on my g1 anyways.

I really hope the rumor of the price starting at "300 euros" is true. If so, then its just 400 USD! But I know once it comes out, they are going to jack up the price just like what Nokia did with their Xpress 5800. 600$ [totally not worth it, from its specs] on release month, then now its only a measly 350. Hope, Samsung doesnt think that way.

    greed:i agree!

purple: i hope so as well... thats all i can afford...
  42. grr, I'm not liking this mini usb thing....

$400 isn't that bad I guess....funny how *our* device was going for $400 bux when it came out....especially after comparing specs of the 2

thats how everything is... as the times go on we will pay the same(if not less) for better technology as it advances...
  44. why does it say google on the back of the phone?

  47. another thing i noticed is that the speaker is right next to the mic... would that interfere with the person hearing themselves while on speakerphone?

Sprint Simply Everything is unlimited minutes. If you want less minutes, there are Everything Plus plans.

Everything Plus 500 is $59 a month with 500 minutes, nights (7pm) + weekends free. It also includes all of Sprint's services like unlimited data, text, roaming, picture messaging, GPS from Telenav, etc.

Android would actually be cheapest on Sprint.

i didnt know about the Everything Plus plan... im not sure if 500 min would be enough for me though.. i really like myfavs because i dont talk to alot of people but the people i do talk to, i talk to alot....

and i dont really like how sprint doesnt use sim cards(then i cant get unlocked phones "fix")
  50. The micro USB adapter is readily available-I bought mine several years ago at a TMO store so I could use my data cable for my V9. It was less than 5 bucks.
The thing that kills me is I'm reading all these stories and none of them mention the good ole USA getting any new cool phones. Other than lack of a physical keyboard, this sounds like the kind of capable hardware I'm waiting for. (And a trackball would be nice.)
  51. This phone looks a bit beyond great. It MAY be the first time I'm forced to buy something unlocked, and from across the pond.
  52. It looks okay, but without a trackball or physical keyboard I'll pass. Sure wish the HTC Touch Pro 2 was android compatible though
  53. Can you hook up an external keyboard through the mini USB port for updating, wiping etc?
