Samsung Galaxy Note II rumored with 12 MP camera coming in September

Samsung unveiled their surprisingly popular Galaxy Note last year at IFA 2011, and now we are hearing new reports suggesting the follow-up Galaxy Note II will be shown off this year. IFA 2012 is set to take place August 31st – September 5th in Berlin, Germany, and some new details have leaked on what the Galaxy Note 2 might behold.

The image above is a mock-up by GSMArena, but today’s new details are from a completely different source. According to MK News, who spoke to someone close to development, the Galaxy Note II will have some impressive specs and launch in September or early October just in time to beat the next iPhone to market.

Reports claim the Galaxy Note II will rock a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Samsung’s Exynos 4 Quad quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and a huge 12 or 13 megapixel camera. Just like the Galaxy S III getting a bigger screen but not increasing device size too much, the Galaxy Note II should be similarly sized yet thinner than the previous generation.     I genuinely hope the rumours are true. It makes absolute sense that Samsung would increase the screen size, as they always seem to do and 0.2″ bigger sounds just right to me. The 12/13MP camera would also be a welcome improvement, as long as they also improve the front facing camera. A quad-core Exynos + 2GB of RAM combo would be incredible, so I’m excited to see if that will happen. 4.1 Jelly Bean is also essential in my opinion, as I’ve had my Note since February and I’ve been rooted and running 4.0 ICS since March so I would like Android in its latest and greatest.

    I’m wondering what Samsung will do about the screen resolution and the aesthetics of the exterior, though. I would definitely like an improvement over the 1280×800 display, and a full HD 1080p experience would be perfection, and I would prefer if it resembled a thinner Note, rather than a larger S3.

      1080p on a 5.5″ phone? Do you carry a microscope around with you look at your screen? 1280×720 is perfectly fine for a 5.5″ screen unless you’re an eagle or something.

    I’m thinking, much like the S3 rumors, that these rumors are a bit enthusiatic, I think the specs will be like the S2 and the Note, The same processors, ram, and cameras with a larger screen, they don’t want to butcher sales of the S3 and a 12 to 13 MP camera seems a bit ridiculous to me

      I doubt that the Note II will cannibalize the S3 I mean the S2 and the original Note co-existed I think these two phones can too. and some of the S3 rumors were spot on, only time will tell lol.

    I will personally await the official release rather than get my hopes up over speculations and rumours. Screen aside if this contains similar hardware to the SIII I would be more than happy.
