The Oppo R5 used to be the thinnest Android smartphone in the world but sadly, the super thin phone has been replaced by the new Vivo X5Max recently. The crown may have been snatched from Oppo R5 by a mere 0.1 mm difference but the super thin smartphone still continues to impress us with its specs and a newly posted video on YouTube will tell you why: it can smash fruits, nuts, and be run over by a vehicle.
To review, the phone is 4.85 mm thick and comes with a 5.2-inch scree, 1080p resolution, 1.7GHz 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 13MP camera, and a 2000 mAh battery. The Oppo R5 is available for $491 (2999 RMB).
If you’re curious to know what else can the Oppo R5 do, the company recently posted a video on YouTube showing that yes, the phone can replace your hammer and kitchen knife. Naaah, that’d be too extreme but the Oppo R5 can indeed smash an apple (with a small bite!ha!), watermelon, and a nut and hammer a nail. The most awesome thing is that the phone can be run over by a vehicle without a scratch! (But why would anyone do that?)
Oppo just wants to show off that the R5 is one tough phone despite its thin form. The video proves smashing won’t affect the phone thanks to the Aerospace Grade Material used. Take that, Vivo X5Max.
My only question now is: Will it blend? And oh, will it bend?
