HTC offers official HTC Flyer video on YouTube

HTC offers official HTC Flyer video on YouTube

We have talked about the HTC Flyer tablet and even offered up our own hands on video and images of the thing in action. What we haven’t seen so far is much in the way of official video and content from HTC about the tablet, but that has now changed. HTC has put the official Flyer tablet advert on YouTube.

The video goes through the main features of the Flyer and spends quite a bit of time looking at the Sense and the cool stylus pen that allows the user to write on any content that appears on the screen. That pen will also allow for some interesting drawing action for the roving artist or doodler.

We already knew the specs of the tablet with its 7-inchs screen and 1024 x 600 resolution. It has a 1.14GHz single core CPU inside, HSPA+ modem, and a 4000mAh battery. It also has duel cameras for video conferencing and photo taking. The tablet runs Android 2.4 and has lots of other features. Check out the video below.

Android 2.4? You sure about that?

Anyway, hope this thing has decent palm rejection or that stylus is gonna be so useless.

Yes, it does. That was demonstrated in one of the video’s on MWC Barcelona.

I am failing to recognize a few things here. As fvar as I can remember, the Flyer has a 1.5 GHz processor and not 1.14 GHz. Secondly, the Flyer comes with Android Gingerbread, a.k.a. Android 2.3. An update to Honeycomb has been rumored, but there are also rumors that 2.x versions can not be upgraded to Honeycomb due to licensing terms with 3rd parties. (whatever that means). Be as it may, who cares about Honeycomb when considering the excellent Sense UI.

I can’t wait until it’s in the shops (and in my pocket!).

Oh, I forgot: Thanks for posting the news on that video. Excellent!
