Klei Entertainment’s Don’t Starve is a hugely popular game for PC users and now, those prefer playing games on their mobile devices will be able to understand what the fuss is all about. The game developers have announced that the Pocket Edition is now available as an open beta for those who want to try it out first before the full release. Over six million people have actually been playing it on their computers, and they probably may exceed that number on mobile if it becomes a hit.

If you’re not familiar with the game, Don’t Starve is a wilderness survival game that’s “full of science and magic”. If you’re skeptical that two such things can co-exist, then you should play the game to find out. The main character which you’ll play is Wilson, a Gentleman Scientist who is trapped in his worst nightmare: kidnapped by a demon and left in a magical, mysterious wilderness world. He now needs to find his way home by using the things around him and maybe even the inhabitants of that world.

The thing with this game is that you will not receive any instructions and there isn’t any guide that will help you find your way around the game. You will have to learn to craft, hunt, research, farm and fight your way to survival. You’ll be going around in a 3D world filled with 2D creatures. And if you want to play in a new world, the game will randomly generate one for you in which you still have to escape from as it is of course, trying to kill you.

You can download the open beta version of Don’t Starve from the Google Play Store for $3.99. Just keep in mind that it is still in the open beta version and that it will probably have some bugs and kinks that you have to work out.
