If there’s one thing common with carmaker Bentley and smartphone manufacturer Vertu, it is that they both manufacture products for the “luxury” end of the market, and in that, their partnership is a logical one. Last year, Vertu launched the Signature Touch phone that retailed for USD$11,300. They also partnered with the carmaker to launch Vertu for Bentley phone which retailed for around USD$15,900.
Granted that us mere mortals will never be able to own one – because really, we have so much more important things to spend our USD$15,000 on – we’re still going to tell you that Vertu and Bentley are still at it. This time, they’re putting out a second generation Signature Touch phone with Bentley’s markings on it. This makes it the Signature Touch for Bentley smartphone, yours starting at USD$9,000 going up to USD$19,000 for the ones with all the bells and whistles.
Specs-wise, we should not be able to find any holes in it – it will come with a 5.2-inch FullHD (1080p) display protected by sapphire glass. It will be powered by a current gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It will give you a 21MP main shooter and a 5MP selfie cam, for the times you need to take a selfie with the phone more expensive than some cars. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and should be able to give you LTE technology, or else you’re wasting your money.
Of course, the price includes all the perks you get for having a Vertu phone – a dedicated concierge you can reach through the phone, remote locking and wiping services when you lose your $15,000 phone, access to VIP events and all that. The device is handmade in England, and features two-tone Beluga leather and Bentley’s own Hotspur leather. There’s a dedicated Bentley app in it, and there’s the integration with your Bentley automobile (because if you have a Vertu, you probably can afford a Bentley as well).
