A rumor that is said to be from a reliable source is making its rounds having to do with Verizon. According to the rumor, Verizon is set to make some significant discounts in price to its data plans on Thursday, February 5. The source of the rumors claim that the $10 discount will come to most of the data plans that the company offers.

Along with the $10 discounts, the source claims that there will be new data tiers for customers to choose and the $25 Edge discount will be available on plans with 6 GB of data and up moving forward. The 500MB data plan will stay at the $20 monthly price and $15 with Edge discount. The $10 discount comes starting with the 1GB plan.

The new data plans will include 6GB of data for $70 monthly. An 8GB plan will be offered for $85 monthly, 12GB will cost $110 monthly, 14GB will cost $120 monthly, and 16GB will cost $130 monthly. Oddly, the 10GB plan will see its price increase from $80 monthly to $100 monthly. All the plans starting at 6GB get a $25 Edge discount.

The largest data plan will be the 20GB plan and it gets a $10 price cut to $140 monthly. Plans with less than 6GB of data on them will continue to get a $15 Edge discount. If you don’t know, Edge discounts are given when you use device payment plans rather than subsidies for a new device.
