When you’re on your Uber ride, you probably already think of how many stars you want to give the driver or what are things you want to say in the feedback form (if any). But after you get out of the car, you probably forget to rate or post or send a message or complaint. Now Uber wants you to be able to do it while you’re already thinking of it since you can now give feedback, including the all-important star rating, while you’re still on your ride.

It’s not really a major update or new feature, but Uber is hoping that they will get more feedback from riders if they allow them to start the process even while they’re still on their ride. This includes the ability to give stars or rate the driver, give compliments when you experience something nice and/or out of the ordinary, tip the driver, and share feedback or criticism when you experience something not so nice.

If you didn’t know it yet, rating the driver isn’t the only way that Uber tries to understand their riders’ experience. Your “positive feedback” is used to recognize the drivers who go beyond what is necessary and to “encourage continued outstanding service” they are launching a new program next month. If you have a negative feedback, they are also using it to improve both the technology and the service, so all your complaints need to be documented.

Uber says to look for some more announcements in the next few weeks as they continue to introduce more improvements in both the products and policies, especially in areas where the riders care most about.
