The Turing Liquid metal-frame Android phone is promising device that was listed for pre-order back in November. Sadly, it was announced the next month that the phone would be delayed further. The Turing Phone is supposed to be the first liquid metal-frame phone. It has a lot of potential but we don’t know why until now, the phone isn’t ready yet.

The Turing Phone is supposed to be the first liquid metal-frame phone. It has a lot of potential but we don’t know why until now, the phone isn’t ready yet. The phone is described to be unhackable so we’re excited to know if the Turing Robotic Industries will deliver the project. It should have been ready last December but delivery data has been pushed once more to first quarter of 2016.

We’re now in mid Q1 and bad news, phone will be delayed further to April. The company recently sent out a notice about the changes. The main subject isn’t the new shipment date but the fact that Turing will now use Sailfish OS and not Android.

We’ve known there’s a Sailfish OS since 2013 but the platform isn’t widely used yet. It was made available for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 albeit unofficially for the latter.

TRI assured the Turing fans that they are already in the final development. We’re hoping the Sailfish OS-powered Turing Phone will be ready by April 2016 and with no more further delays. We’re excited to see if Sailfish OS will really run fast, after all, it runs Snapdragon 801 processor. The mobile OS has been updated and optimized for the smartphone so it should be super fast.
