Anyone looking for an open source text editor that will run on Android devices may want to check out Turbo Editor. The app has recently been updated and added in some new features that make it more usable. The update brings the app to version 2.0.1.

One of the big changes with this update is the addition of a donation setting to the author of the app that will remove the ads. The update also added a TAB to the symbols bar and added a nav bar when you want to open a file.

A number of other issues with the app were addressed in the update, but those issues are unspecified. A few visual tweaks and updated translations are also part of the update. The app is 6.4MB in size and requires Android 4.0.3 or higher. In-app purchases are $1.99 per item.

A few other features of the app include syntax highlight for HTML, XHTML, CSS, LESS, JS, PHP, PYTHON, and other languages. The app supports undo and redo modes and has an auto save mode for saving what you are working on when you leave the app. content is also movable via SD cards.
