A few days ago we mentioned a new Toshiba Tablet was on the way but this time around it would be much thinner than the Toshiba Thrive. We saw a few pictures earlier this week but today from IFA the real deal was officially on hand and we have pictures. This is the new ultra-thin Toshiba Excite Tablet.
We first got a glimpse of the thin design and the name here but the new image above basically confirms any doubts we may have had. Notebookitalia was able to snap up the photo as well as some possible specs. The new Toshiba tablet should be called the “Excite” when it launches sometime shortly this fall.
We are hearing the Excite will feature a 1.5 Ghz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 processor, 1GB of RAM, micro USB, micro SD, and mini HDMI-out along with a front and rear facing camera. Details are still a little blurry but the photo sure isn’t. Sources are claiming the tablet to be extremely thin and sexy with a brushed aluminum back but it has a unique indent or groove that runs around the entire device, this is probably where to two pieces meet. Stay tuned for more pictures as we are live at IFA 2011 ourselves.

An anti-thrive with all the ports? Count me in!
Is it the same tablet that has been announced today by Toshiba to be showcased at CES 2012? I’m bit confused since the specs (7.7mm thickness etc.) match a lot of these two tabs.
I read this CES news at etechmag.com…
