Tesco has unveiled the Hudl tablet, which will be available beginning a bit later this month. Tesco has said the tablet will be available at around 1000 retail stores and also online beginning September 30. The Hudl tablet is a 7-inch device with a display resolution of 1440 x 900 and one of the key factors here will be the pricing.

Tesco has said the tablet will sell for £119, however those with a Clubcard will be able to get a bit of an extra discount. For this the retailer has said the tablet will be available on the Clubcard Boost which will bring the price down to “less than £100.”

Aside from the display, the Hudl tablet will be running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and sporting a quad-core 1.5GHz processor along with 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 32GB in size. The tablet will have Google Play Store access and ship in variety of colors to include black, blue, red and purple.

In addition, the those considering a purchase should know the tablet will have a battery life of up to 9 hours (for video) along with dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and microHDMI along with a matte, soft-touch back and scratch-resistant display.

Along with the price point, another item Tesco is pushing with the Hudl is family. For this they have said the tablet will ship with some software options (that will be presented at first boot) to help parents better set up the device for children. And as the children aspect has come into play here, Tesco also has child-friendly accessories including a bright bumper case and headphones.
