Alcatel’s parent company TCL, the same group behind the BlackBerry DTEK50 and DTEK60, has recently introduced a new XESS tablet. We saw a model earlier this year from Alcatel as another tablet ideal for the whole family. It actually looks like the Alcatel model but the TCL XESS tablet now boasts better specs and features.

The TCL XESS is a 17.3-inch tablet that runs Android mobile OS. It features a network camera that let’s you see your home to check what the babysitter or the kids have been doing. So it’s a home-centered tablet that is more than just another Android tablet. This one now utilizes Alexa Voice Service so you can “talk” to it and have it do many other tasks for you like set the alarm, control the smart home, check the weather, hear the news, and add items to your to-do list.

The XESS tablet comes with a full HD front camera so you can do video chats or record yourself. It also works with an IP camera that’s easy to install and manage so you can set up your own live camera (CCTC) for home use.

The XESS tablet is priced at $499.99. It already boasts of a bonus remote camera, JBL Audio, a 17.3-inch screen, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 1.5GHz processor, 3GB RAM, and 64GB onboard storage. Tablet runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
