While Google Photos was adjudged to be one of the, if not the best cloud photo organizers available in the market, that won’t stop developers from coming up with apps that will challenge that position. And yes, they probably can’t beat a giant like Google, but they can provide an alternative to those who don’t want to store their photos with them. Focus is one of those apps attempting to do so, and they will try to win you over with tags, passwords, and all the details you’d like to know about your photo.

Organizing photos is always a pain, especially if you take a lot of them and store all of them on your device. The old filing system was folders, but it’s a bit difficult to do that on mobile devices. What we’ve learned when it comes to filing on smartphones and tablets is that tags are the key. That is Focus’ main thing, letting you add 11 pre-set tags, and letting you add more customized ones as well. It makes it easier to search and organize all the photos on your devices.

Another great feature that the app has is that you can password protect photos that you don’t want other people to see when they browse through your device. We’re not going to ask why you want to hide these photos, that’s your business. And Focus wants to keep it that way. All the photos that you upload to the app will have the most detailed details, but if you want just the basics, you can choose that too.

You can download Focus from the Google Play Store for free. There are some in-app purchases available for more special features.

  1. Wow. You don’t test many Android photo organizers do you. Considering all the problems with Google’s photo app ( how about it continuing to backup photos you have not even selected, even with backup OFF and continuing to do so even with the app removed ) and this apps complete lack of even basic features, most of us that organize and tag photos on Android for a living are going to stick with F-Stop and Quickpic, like we have for 5 years now.
