T-Mobile updates its mobile and data plans as needed but we haven’t heard since that T-Mobile ONE Family plan getting free Netflix subscription. We also remember expansion of Simple Choice family plans tablet options but that was four years ago already. The Un-carrier is bent on improving communication and relationships among families and so it is launching the T-Mobile Family Mode. It’s not exactly a new app but more of a digital solution for parents to have peace of mind over their children’s use of gadgets.

T-Mobile FamilyMode allows parents to check the screen time and online activities of their kids right on their smartphones across different devices at home. What the T-Mobile FamilyMode Home Base does is connect to your WiFi and see what the little ones and teenagers have been up to. It allows easier management of everyone in the family and keeping track of activities even when you are away from home.

The T-Mobile FamilyMode system consists of a special device that costs $20 and the T-Mobile FamilyMode app that requires a $10 monthly fee. The system works by monitoring, filtering, and setting time limits for different gadgets. It’s not only for the smartphone or tablet but also for the smart TV, laptop, or gaming console.

Watch below to see how you can manage your family digital life with FamilyMode:

If you are currently a T-Mobile subscriber, note that you can add FamilyMode to your account for only $10 per month.

Manage when your kids can use the Internet, set time limits or pause Internet access. You can also give screen time as a reward if you’re feeling too kind. Keep track of your family members with this service. It’s possible with real-time location information so you are always up-to-date about your kids’ whereabouts. For those with younger children, it is recommended you set custom filters or pre-sets so only age-appropriate content is served.

You can teach the kids how to develop good digital habits by monitoring first how they spend screen time. You can see where they spend time online and for how long. T-Mobile has also introduced Home Base which is a device that helps set limits on gaming consoles, TVs, computers, and other gadgets. With this, you can control all connected devices at home.

T-Mobile FamilyMode requires a $20 one-time purchase for the Home Base and a $10 monthly fee. It can be compared with other similar family control services like the AT&T Smart Limits and Verizon Smart Family. It is only a cent more expensive but the features are a plenty including Location, Internet filtering, Usage, History, Pause, Scheduling, Screen Time Limits, Rewards, Child’s Dashboard, and Call and Text Controls. Making FamilyMode unique is that is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms, as well as, both WiFi and cellular networks.

With T-Mobile FamilyMode, you can be effective in managing your family’s screen time by setting limits, rewarding good behavior, choosing a bedtime, and scheduling downtime. Want a digital life well-lived? That is possible with FamilyMode as promised by T-Mobile
