Admit it, you’re still addicted to Facebook. Maybe you’re using it not as frequently as when it was first launched and during those times when you were freely stalking other people. Developer Happening Studios, jcbsera on Reddit, recently announced an update for Swipe for Facebook. It’s a lite wrapper-style app that makes FB browsing more fun and easy on the eyes with a nice UI and UX.

After its first release, the developer waited for feedback and took them into consideration while making the necessary updates. The latest version brings a number of improvements plus new features including 4-digit PIN security lock, in-app notification badges, full screen videos, and fully functional notifications. Also added are new settings like Prefer Messenger, Hide Composer in News Feed, and Hide People You May Know.

You can now share a current page with the overflow menu and view all pages, favorites, and groups on the ‘More’ tab. Swipe for Facebook 2.0 now uses less data and less RAM, thanks to an enhanced image compression algorithm. Back navigation has also been improved so pressing back will now bring you to the news feed.

Some bugs have been squashed including the duplicate notification, Message alerts not working, pressing ‘Messages’ not working, loading loop issue, some scrolling issues, and notification badges not being displayed.

The developer promised that Swipe 2.0 will run faster and smoother. It’s also more battery-efficient now, all thanks to code optimization and bug fixes. The next round of update will bring fingerprint authentication security lock, day-night theming, download images, caching tabs, and video uploading among others.
