You may have forgotten the news that Microsoft acquired Sunrise calendar last year and the past few months, both companies have been on integration. Microsoft started full integration of Sunrise to Outlook way back in October. That’s already for both Android and iOS. Microsoft aims to bring efficient management of our mobile and digital lives and its acquisition of Sunrise is expected to make things better.

The Sunrise team has been excitedly working with Microsoft’s Outlook team to integrate the app. Transition has been smooth so far. There’s no problem with using Outlook and Sunrise but sadly, the Sunrise app will have to go. Those people still loyal to the Sunrise app, we’re sorry to say that the developers will no longer release an update. Support will end starting August 31.

This means no more updates, bug fixes, or new features. Sunrise will be no more. The Sunrise team will be pulling out the app from the Play Store in the coming days. This is sad news for fans of Sunrise but it’s still great that the brand will be in good hands. We’re pretty sure that the people behind the Sunrise are proud that Microsoft took notice of them.

Sunrise will be no more but its features will live on the Outlook app. Kudos to the team who worked hard on Sunrise the past years. Your works will forever be remembered.
