It’s been over a week since we told you about the Steam Link and Steam Video apps being ready for mobile soon. The Steam Link is now available for Android but only in beta. Avid Steam-ers will find this app useful because it allows them to stream a library of video games to any Android device whether it’s a smartphone, tablet, or smart TV. Steam Link only requires that the devices are connected to the same wired ethernet connection or 5GHz network.

The Steam Controller recently received a firmware update that activates Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. It’s also supported by Steam Link. The app supports devices starting with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It’s an exciting program to use because it can stream games in 4K at 60 fps straight to the phone. The only premise is that you are connected to the same home network.

Within the Steam Link app, settings can be customized by tuning streaming resolution and bitrate. You can check the options within the advanced streaming settings.

The Steam Link app delivers PC gaming to your Android mobile device. All you need is a Steam Controller or Bluetooth controller to start working. Just remember, you need to be connected to the same network before you can stream and start playing Steam games.

Only the Steam Link app for Android is available for now.
