Sony’s MESH project is actually an interesting one – it allows developers, tech enthusiasts, and even normal consumers to invent their own smart devices. This is done with normal everyday stuff, like lamps, switches, and other home implements and embedding them with MESH programmable sensors. Now, Sony is launching a MESH app to work seamlessly with all your MESH-enabled devices.
The new MESH app works with MESH tags and sensors, giving you mobile and instant control to your smart devices. For instance, consumers can use the MESH Motion sensor to turn on the connected front porch light bulb when people approach the house.
You can make everyday stuff get smarter – a coffee maker, a home audio entertainment system, even your connected lights at home. The MESH app will just make things easier, especially in programming your home automation projects. But sometimes we wish there were more applications of the MESH project.
The MESH app will support Android devices with Bluetooth Low Energy (LE). Also, the platform requirement is Android 5.0 Lollipop or better. Sony confirms that all MESH tags will be compatible with the app running on any supported Android device and these sensors are available for purchase in US and Japan.
