Lately we’ve been hearing rumors that Sony is also prepping their own 5-inch 1080p smartphone phablet to take on the Galaxy Note II, and HTC’s upcoming DROID DNA. Reports surfaced last month of the Sony Odin, but today we have another leaked smartphone that actually looks real. This is the rumored Sony Yuga complete with a 5-inch 1080p display.
Just like HTC’s J Butterfly, the Sony Yuga is reportedly rocking a 5-inch 1080p display with a 1794x1080p resolution due to the on-screen Android 4.1 Jelly Bean navigation buttons. It should come powered by the Snapdragon S4 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and be their new flagship with an impressive 12 megapixel camera on the rear. Here’s another quick photo that was leaked.
Thanks to XperiaBlog we have all these leaked photos to check out of this new phablet from Sony, but that’s all we have at the moment. Specs haven’t been confirmed, but multiple benchmarks lately have shown Sony has a device or two of this caliber in the works.
Physically the device looks rather thin, and seems to be built with a brushed aluminum design. With squared edges and in the image below you can clearly see a dedicated camera button — which makes sense if this phone will indeed have a 12 megapixel shooter. Sony usually reveals all their new goods at CES in Las Vegas so most likely we’ll only see a few leaks until January, then they’ll reveal all the details. Enjoy the gallery below of this potentially awesome Sony flagship smartphone.
