Sony has unveiled their latest tablet, well, technically the latest variant of the Xperia Tablet Z. This one is dubbed the Kitchen Edition and will be arriving for tablet loving foodies that happen to be located in the US. This Xperia Tablet Z is being touted as the “perfect kitchen companion” and will be arriving with both hardware and software related goodies for those who prefer to spend time in the kitchen.

To begin with, the Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition will be familiar hardware for those who have already been checking out the regular model Xperia Tablet Z. That is to say the Kitchen Edition will have a 10.1-inch HD display that is powered by the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 with 32GB of internal storage. This Kitchen Edition model will be white and available as WiFi only. It will also have a carbon-fiber back and the same water-resistant design as the regular model.

Perhaps key here — the kitchen related extras. Sony has said this includes $115 worth of accessories, content and recipes. This includes the iGrill from iDevices which is an app-enabled Bluetooth thermometer that can be monitored remotely (from up to 200 feet away). The Kitchen Edition Xperia Tablet Z will also include a foldable stand as well as several pre-loaded apps to include BigOven, Evernote Food, Juicing Recipes, Food Planner Pro, iGrill Pro and Out of Milk Shopping List.

There will also be recipes and a how-to video series. In total there will be 260 recipes included on the tablet, which Sony has listed as being “one for each weekday of the year.” As for that how-to video series, that will be provided by Saveur.

All that being said, Sony has the Xperia Tablet Z Kitchen Edition sitting with a price tag of $649. Otherwise, the non-Kitchen Edition of the Xperia Tablet Z remains available in the US market and is available in a 16GB and 32GB storage option with price points of $499.99 and $599.99 respectively.
