Sony Smart Tennis Sensor

My tennis knowledge is very much limited. I have played the sports but only on Wii and Xbox. Don’t ask me for pro tips because I won’t be able to give you not even one useful help. But thank heavens for tech innovations, you can now review your moves and tennis game performance results with the Smart Tennis Sensor.

The Sony Smart Tennis Sensor is now available on Sony’s online store, Wilson.com, and select Wilson tennis dealers in the US. Both Sony and Wilson worked on this tennis sensor so players can optimize and improve their games. Sony also partnered with HEAD, YONEX, and Prince to make sure that the tennis sensor will fit most rackets available in the market today.

The sensor is a simple device attachment to the tennis racket. It must be fully charged so it would work non-stop and be able to track your movements continuously. Simply attach the Smart Tennis Sensor onto the grip end of the racket and onto the attachment ring. Make sure the sensor is turned on while playing a round.

The Smart Tennis Sensor features some vibration analysis mechanics and sensing technologies that can analyze data including play movements, swing speed, ball impact spot, ball speed, shot count, and ball spin. Sony uses some sensitive motion and wave detection to pick up different swing types from smash to slick backhand, volley backhand, volley forehand, slice forehand, and topspin forehead. Sony has used the knowledge in sound and audio analysis technologies to bring the sensor that connects with phones, smartwatches, and tablets via Bluetooth connectivity.

The Sony Smart Tennis Sensor works with a companion app that displays videos and records metrics so players can check data and start analysis. You can view slow-motion playback or Motionshot sequence photos and then share them on social media with your peers.
