There are a lot of mobile photo editing apps that are out there, but for those who started out with Google’s Snapseed have chosen to stay with it because of all the tools and features that help you enhance your photos, and because they keep adding more. Also, if you’re a fan of Google products, then this should work for you. The latest update to the app brings some new things, including blue filter and white balance, plus Talkback for the Healing tool.

The Blue filter doesn’t necessarily mean that you want to turn your entire photo blue. It’s actually used in black and white photos to create higher contrast as it pushes the blue tones to white and the white and yellow tones to black. For those who have serious photo editing skills, this is important. You can also now have white balance in the RAW editor, as you can pick any neutral color for automatic corrections. You can also choose from 8 presets, which include Tungsten, Daylight, and Sunny.

You also can now enable the Talkback function for the Healing tool. Okay, this doesn’t mean your app will suddenly start talking to you ala OK Google or Alexa. But it will announce where the patch will be applied on the photo. Okay, these are not major changes, but new tools and features are always welcome, especially if you’re a serious photographer or graphic artist working on a mobile device.

You can update your Snapseed app if it has rolled out to you already. You can check the Google Play Store for version 2.6, but just be patient if it’s not there yet.
