One of the content nightmares of graphic designers, photographers, and even us ordinary human beings who edit photos, is losing the original photo that we were editing and saving over them. That’s why we appreciate apps and programs that let us save our new, edited photos as a new file so you can still go back to the original if you didn’t like what you edited. So imagine some users surprise when their Snapseed app inadvertently lost them the original files and replaced it with the edited one. Fortunately, they have now released an update that fixed the bug.

Some Snapseed users complained on Reddit (because where else can you complain eh?) that when they wanted to edit their photos on the app, naturally, they would send it there through the share menu. But apparently doing that caused the original, unedited photo to either be deleted or overwritten once you started editing it on the app. Normally, this would be okay for some, except that there are of course people who would want to keep the original, “pure” version of a photo for various reasons.

That was happening for Android devices that updated to version 2.9. But now, Snapseed has released an updated version 2.9.1 and the only changelog they announced is that it has fixed the bug that caused some users to experience this hassle. If you did not experience any photo loss, it’s still a good idea to update to the latest version so everything can work properly.

The update has rolled out to users already as per Google, but in case it’s not yet available for you, you can always find the APK somewhere out there.
