Remember that Samsung Glow we mentioned last week? Looks like the feature is about to be confirmed as more information was recently shared online. This one is expected to appear on the upcoming Galaxy J2. We know that the Smart Glow will be an alternative to notifications as the ring around the camera will light up different colors for a specific function or activity.
This notification light feature will make it easier for any Galaxy J2 user to identify what kind of alert is available. It can be used for taking selfies with the Selfie assist feature. It can also “glow” to indicate Usage alerts and Priority alerts. This glowing ring idea is similar to what the Galaxy S7 edge and S6 egde already have. The idea is to inform the person what just came in without having to pick up the phone or opening the home or notifications screen.
The Smart Glow may show battery status or tell you if the phone needs to be charged already. If you want to take a selfie, the Selfie assist will have the blue light glowing when a face is detected. Once detected, the phone will then capture a phone quickly in a couple of seconds.
As for the Galaxy J2 (2016), the smartphone will take advantage of the Smart Glow for Usage alerts to inform user of the memory, data, and storage usage. In the future, we can expect the Smart Glow to include a Health ring and Weather ring. Soon enough, your Samsung smartphone will tell you the weather condition by showing a defined color.
More information are gathered from the Galaxy J2’s user manual recently leaked. The new smartphone will be available online in India but the Smart Glow will so be added to future Galaxy phones like the Galaxy S8 out in 2017 or maybe even future Samsung Gear wearable devices or other products, home appliances, and smart devices.
