New smartwatch models are being released, leaked, and rumored left and right. We’re seeing a few from China and we’re expecting more will be announced in the coming months especially now that wearables have finally entered mainstream. The latest Samsung Gear S2 may be running its own Tizen OS and not Android Wear, but most Samsung phone users prefer a smartwatch from the same manufacturer.

The Samsung Gear S2 is the first round smartwatch from the South Korean tech giant. It’s like any another wearable device today as it can receive notifications, messages, and SMS right on your wrist. This one connects with any supported devices so you you can send a message or make a call even you only have your Gear S2 with you.

The Samsung Gear S2 comes with a circular interface. Bezel rotates so you can control the apps, widgets, and notifications. If you’re bored with the look of the Gear S2, you can always change the watch bands and customize your watch faces.

You can pre-order the $349 Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 now but expect item to be delivered starting November 6, same day that online shops will be selling the device. You can also choose to get if for only $299.99 but with a 2-year contract. Phone will be ready in Dark Grey and Silver. If you want this as an add-on to your current plan from Verizon, you can always pay additional five dollars ($5).

The mobile carrier is offering a $5/month deal to deliver the smartwatch with its basic, talk, text, and data plan to unlimited canners. This includes unlimited music-streaming, unlimited texting and data in most parts of the world, as well as, 4G data and unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada.

  1. At last! Can’t believe they didn’t have this version of the watch ready to go at the initial Gear S2 launch… what a waste of free press coverage. The ability to leave your phone at home –yet still make calls and stream music–when jogging or at the gym is the “killer app” feature that takes digital watches into a new “must have” realm of utility. Now Samsung needs to have the balls to pour the huge sums of money that Apple pours into advertising the Apple watch, otherwise they will fail to sell the multiple millions needed to get app-makers interested in developing new apps for the S2.
