A mister Brendan Arndt from the UK’s Three network has today been allowed to show off Samsung’s newest smartphone effort, the Samsung Galaxy W. This is what Arndt calls “a sneak peek” video and introduces the mid-range device as coming out of the box with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, having a Super Clear LCD display on the front at 3.7-inches, the back holds a 5 megapixel camera with single LED flash. Also on the back is one of Samsung’s new textured battery covers (as they’ve been prone to add on many of their most recent devices, the Samsung Galaxy S II included.)

Inside you’ll find a lovely single core 1.4 GHz processor, and the front features a large single home button below the display along with a back button and Android menu button on either side. This is a lovely mid-range phone on any other carrier, but here on Three it’s what they describe as “one of the fastest devices in our portfolio.” A cool device that several years ago would have taken the competition out for lunch and made them pay for their own drinks.

Those of you rolling out on Three over there across the pond can also grab the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray and the Samsung Galaxy S II in white, both of them in September. There’s also news incoming of a cool new naming structure for Samsung devices, S for Flagship, R for Premium, W for High-Tier, M for Mid-Tier, and Y for Entry Level. More on that whole situation in just a few minutes here on Android Community.
