Samsung may be busy doing recalls of the Note 7 all over the world but it’s not forgetting its other product lines. We don’t usually care about tablets because there’s not much demand compared to a few years ago and they’re slowly being overtaken by bigger smartphones aka phablets like the Note 7 but the South Korean tech giant still has plans for this category.
We’ve been waiting for the Galaxy Tab A and the Tab S3 but we saw another one on Geekbench with reference to SM-T587P. We’re guessing it’s a new Galaxy Tab E based on the model number given.
The Geekbench listing tells us that new mobile device is powered by a Snapdragon 625. This processor is one of the first launched by Qualcomm back in February and is the first to take advantage of the 14 nm FinFET technology. With the new SoC, power consumption is said to be reduced down to 35%. The S625 is said to go with an octa-core 2.02GHz CPU and Adreno 506 GPU plus 2GB RAM to power this Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow tablet.
We’re not certain if this is indeed a new Galaxy Tab E model but at least we know Samsung is working on a new one. Actually, it already scored on both the single-core and multi-core– 808 and 3180, respectively. Let’s wait and see for the official announcement by Samsung.
