A couple of weeks ago, we noted the Samsung SM-G8750 would come as the Galaxy S8 Lite. The phone is said to be released in China and will be equipped with a 4GB RAM, 64GB built-in storage, 2220 X 1080 Quad HD display, Snapdragon 660 processor, and Android 8.1 Oreo OS. The device was spotted on TENAA where we first thought it’s the Galaxy S9 Mini. Now we have confirmation there is such a thing and it will even arrive in two colors: black and red.

Published on Chinese Twitter Weibo are photos of a Burgundy Red and a Black Galaxy phones that look a lot like the Galaxy S8 with curved edges, an Infinity display, glass back panel, and aluminum frame. We see the same Bixby button and a single camera which is said to be 16 megapixels with LED flash. There is a rear fingerprint sensor. The phone will also have a microSD slot for memory expansion and will be powered by a 3000mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite is only a mid-range smartphone. It may be priced at around $450. That is still pricey compared to other mid-range phones that cost below $300. If you’ve been wanting the premium Galaxy S8 or S9 but can’t afford twice that amount, then Galaxy S8 Lite may be good enough.

The official launch in China is scheduled for May 21 so let’s wait and see.
