We’ve started our countdown and it’s only four days to go before the Galaxy Unpacked event. We’re excited about the upcoming Note 7 and Note 7 edge because we want to know if there will still be a flat variant or not. Looks like we’ll know before D-Day as a hands-on video was recently shown off. It’s said to be a prototype only but it’s obvious that it has a flat display and not curved. We still can’t say if this prototype device will be the final offering because it could only be one of the earlier prototypes. What’s more interesting though is that the phone looks like the flat variant with glass back leaked last week.
From the flat screen to the oval power button and the holes at the top part of the front display, this one appears to be similar to previous leaked images including the first flat variant prototype we saw. Watch the video below and see for yourself if this is the Galaxy Note 7:
Yup. It definitely looks like the one leaked last week. Even the welcome screen where the logo is shown is the same. No doubt that it is similar with previous leaks but we’re really still not convinced there will be a flat Note because of other information shared and leaks presented already.
At this point, we wish we understand Chinese because we want to understand what’s being said in the video.
It’s still possible that the flat variant here is not the final product. (But still crossing our fingers for the flat variant…)
So much has been said about the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy Note 7 edge. This unit on the video is being tested with an SK Telecom software. So far, we know the Galaxy Note 7 will have the following specs and features: 6-inch Super AMOLED with QHD resolution (2K, 2560 x 1440), Qualcomm Snapdragon 8xx or Exynos 8890, 4GB or 6GB RAM, 12 MP dual pixel camera system, 4K video recording, 5MP selfie cam, 64GB or 128GB built-in storage, microSD, iris scanner, IP68-resistance, and a 3600mAh battery. Color options will probably be Blue, Sliver, and Black.
Information overload already? Start your own countdown. Make a list. Before you know it, it’s August 2 and Samsung is all over the news once again.
Below is an official video teaser from Samsung:
Will it be a ‘6’? NO. It’s gonna be a ‘NOTE 7’.

Having held and explored the device this week can confirm no flat variant.
How much RAM was in the phone? 4 or 6 GB?
See my reply above
Also which processor was in the phone?
LOL. The only two things I was unable to confirm about the device was RAM and which processor. All I know about the processor is that it is Exynos and not QSD.
The screen is positively incredible, the iris scanner is sick fast and extremely consistent, and the phone is water resistant both with and without the pen inserted (and the pen is IP68 also).
