Verizon Wireless has become the latest carrier to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Big Red had pre-orders open for the Note 3, however those have ended and general availability begins today. Those who pre-ordered should get a delivery soon, in fact, those are expected to begin arriving today.
That being said, those who were waiting to the handset was available can now move forward with an online order, or stop by and visit a Verizon Wireless retail location to check the handset out in person. The pricing should be familiar to most, however just in case — the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear are both $299. The difference here, the Galaxy Note 3 comes with a two-year agreement while the Galaxy Gear is an outright buy.
Verizon Wireless has the Galaxy Note 3 available in black and white and there are also a few other options available for those looking to avoid the two-year commitment. The full retail price is $699.99 and the handset is available under the Verizon Edge program. The Edge pricing is $29.31 per month with $0 down.
The Galaxy Note 3 is running Android 4.3 and sporting a 5.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot (up to 64GB), 2 megapixel front-facing camera and 13 megapixel rear-facing camera.
Shifting over to the Galaxy Gear and while there isn’t any alternatives in terms of pricing, there is a wider variety in terms of available colors. Verizon Wireless has the smartwatch listed in tan, green, gold, orange, gray and black.
