Putting an end to another series of rumors and leaks, Samsung has confirmed the upcoming US availability of the Galaxy Mega 6.3. Except unlike those rumors, it looks like Samsung will have the Galaxy Mega 6.3 available with a trio of carriers. We still need the official word from the carriers, however Samsung has said the handset will be available beginning later this month.

The Galaxy Mega comes in Polaris White and Nova Black, however Samsung has said the individual carriers will “announce their specific availability, colors and timing.” Those three carriers include AT&T, US Cellular and Sprint. That being said, while we suspect the individual carrier marketing may vary, Samsung is pushing the Galaxy mega 6.3 as being “the ideal hybrid mobile device for those who want to experience smartphone portability with the immersive experience of a tablet.”

While we need those finer points such as pricing and release dates, we do know the specs. The Galaxy Mega has a 6.3-inch Super Clear LCD with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and is powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz processor with 1.5GB of RAM. Other specs include a microSD card slot (with support for cards up to 64GB in size), 3200 mAh battery and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Samsung will have the handset running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz. Aside from the Samsung UI there will also be plenty of Samsung features such as Air View, Multi Window, Easy Mode and WatchON. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 all also be a SAFE (Samsung for Enterprise), which should make it a decent option for those searching for a handset for a BYOD workplace.

Finally, as we have seen with other Samsung devices, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will arrive with a line of accessories. These goodies will include the S-View Flip Cover, a regular Flip Cover and a Protective Cover — all of which will be available in a variety of colors. With that, we now just need the word from the carriers.
