Just days after the announcement of the SRP when it will be released in China later this month, the Samsung Galaxy A8 is revealed to also be coming to South Korea within this week. The Korean website announced that the OEM’s thinnest smartphone yet will come out in the local market by July 24, and users will be able to choose from white and gold colors and a 16GB or 32GB variants.

The Galaxy A8 is another one of Samsung’s forays into the mid-range market, but this is their thinnest one to date, being just 5.9 mm thick, or rather thin. This device has a 5.7” full HD display, which makes it more of a phablet, and runs on a 64-bit 1.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC. It has a 2GB RAM, powered by a 3,050mAH battery, and has a microSD slot to expand its internal storage as well. The 16MP main camera was also made into a thinner ISOCELL camera sensor, while the front-facing cam is at 5MP.

Last week, they announced that it will be released in China, but without pricing or shipping date then. It would be available in Midnight Black, Champagne Gold, and Pearl White. But now, there are reports saying that it will go on sale in China by the end of the month and that it will be priced at $515 for the base model and $564 for the 32GB model.

If this report is true, then the Korean release would still be earlier. SRP would be at $564, and this is probably for the 32GB one as well, based on the China price for the same variant.
