We’ve been hearing about it through various tips and rumors that we feel like we practically know the 2016 version of the Samsung Galaxy A8. But the reality is, it was only officially announced last week and has just started to go on sale, actually pre-order, in South Korea. If you’re looking for a mid-range smartphone with decent specs and an affordable price, the Korean OEM would like for you to take a look at their latest device.

The Galaxy A8 (2016) has a 5.7-inch Full HD display that is powered by an Exynos 7420 processor. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, plus a 3,500 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner to boot. When it comes to the cameras, the main one is a 16MP shooter while the front-facing or selfie one is at 8MP. Basically, the specs are what you would expect from a mid-range Samsung device at this point in time.

It is still exclusively available with SK Telecom and they started accepting pre-orders since October 1. The only color available for now is blue but soon they will also have pastel pink and silver. While the phone is being sold at 649,000 won or around $583, the telecom is offering a 250,000 won subsidy if the user will choose to get the 6.5 GB band data monthly scheme, which is 56,100 won per month.

We actually still don’t know when the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016) will be released in other markets or if it will actually be available outside of South Korea. Let’s wait and see and hope (the latter if you love Samsung).
