No, HTC is not branching out into producing fragrances, but the news around town is that the new flagship device from the Taiwanese OEM is codenamed Perfume, but is in fact the HTC One M10. A reliable source is saying this brand new device will come with Android 6.1 OS, even though Google has yet to announce if there will be one (and of course there will be, we think).

A few months ago, August to be exact, there were already rumors about the next flagship from HTC called O2, which was supposedly a Snapdragon 820-powered device that would have a 6-inch QHD display, a 4GB RAM, 64 and 128 GB internal storage, and a 3,500 mAH battery. It all sounds pretty good, but reliable leakster @LlabTooFeR has said that this device has already been scrapped.

Instead, we will be getting a new flagship that will be called One M10. Not very exciting a name of course, but that will probably be better than actually calling it Perfume. There isn’t much information available about it. Except for the fact that it will have an Android 6.1 OS. Google hasn’t yet announced that there will actually be a 6.1, but given that we have a 5.1 for the Lollipop, then it will probably be so for the Marshmallow. Perfume will also supposedly have Sense 8.0, a new version of HTC’s UI.

The current flagship of HTC, the One M9, is already 9 months old, so we can expect an announcement pretty soon. Other tips and assumptions include a 13-megapixel back-facing camera with dual-LED flash, capable of taking 4K video and an 8MP front-facing one with 1080p video. If all these are true, then it looks like a pretty high-end device, although other OEM’s 2016 flagships will probably look like this too.
