We talked recently about the Remix IO and how it was the upgrade and successor to the Remix Mini that we all have been waiting for. Apparently, Jide Technology can do even better – they just announced the Remix IO+ with upgraded specs as an update to their initial Remix IO Kickstarter campaign. Let’s look at what the new Android PC box has to offer.
Initially, the Remix IO was powered by an octa-core Rockchip RK3368 processor supported by 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Remix IO+ ups the ante by upgrading the processor to an octa-core RK3399 chip with effectively up to 2.0GHz speed, and a better Mali-T864 graphics chip. The RAM support is bumped up to 4GB and the internal storage to 32GB. These upgrades alone already make the IO+ an Android device we’d want to have.
Additional upgrades are two USB 3.0 ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. The IO+ also comes with improved 10-bit color support – which in consumer terms means that you get 1,024 shades of each primary color and over a billion possible colors, giving you better color differentiation and depth for your big screen media viewing.
The Remix IO Kickstarter campaign has opened a new USD$129 tier for you to get on the Remix IO+ upgrades. Make no mistake, the Remix IO is an already capable device, but the Remix IO+ upgrades make it a must have for your home Android big screen system.
