We used to ask why smartphones don’t have a reboot button in the power menu. Laptops and computers have it so why not bring such feature to mobile phones? It appears that it is happening soon as Google is believed to be adding a button on the upcoming smartphones. These new phones, said to be the Pixel and Pixel XL, will have this reboot button to make well…rebooting, easier.

Usually, one needs to totally shut down the smartphone to “reboot” the system. You need to turn off the device completely and then turn it on again. It’s not a problem but a restart option may make things easier for everyone. We’re not certain if this is another special feature of the Android 7.0 Nougat or just specific to Pixel devices. We’re hoping it will be a new Nougat option because it will be very useful to any Android user.

Android Police shared this information from a reliable source who said that the reboot button will be part of Android 7.1 specifically. A screenshot was shared and it seems to be credible. Of course, anyone can make this up but we choose to believe something that we need and want.

We’re curious to know if the older Android devices that are getting Android 7.1 will also have this mystery button. What do you think? Let’s just wait and see.
