We used to be content with just listening to music on our cassette tape players. Then it became Walkmans. Then CD players. Then digital music players. Then iPods. Then smartphones. But now, it seems that we’re expanding our music listening process once again, although in a more connected way as well. One of the more popular music streaming apps is Rdio, and now it is available on more multi-room speaker systems as well as some Smart TV systems for a more enhanced listening experience.

Multi-room speaker systems are becoming a thing once again, as you would like to listen to your music wherever you are in your house or even in your office. There are several popular brands in the market now, and some of these now have global partnerships with Rdio. Previously, the music service was only compatible with the Sonos system, but now, if you have (or are planning to buy) Harman-Kardon, Denon, and the DTS Play-Fi Whole-Home Wireless ecosystem, then you can play Rdio on them. Devices that support Google Cast for audio can also stream Rdio.

Now music isn’t really made for playing on Smart TVs, but if you did want to stream it to one, at least you should choose the prettiest. Rdio claims that their music “looks as good as it sounds”. Smart TVs like Samsung’s and soon on LG (webOS-based) and Hisense (Ultra HD) will now have a Rdio version that has been created for the bigger screen.

Aside from your smartphone and tablet, the Rdio app is also available on over-the-top services like Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Chromecast. So if you have any of the aforementioned devices or service, try out Rdio and see if you’ll enjoy their music streaming.
