Ok, first off, I don’t know how we can take these rumors of the Sony Xperia Z4 launching in January seriously. Yes, the CES 2015 in Las Vegas goes up at around that time, but there is just too little time in between the launch of their current flagship, the Sony Xperia Z3, really just a few weeks ago until January. Still, the intarwebs are rife with rumors – even as images of this possible touch digitizer of the rumored Z4 leaks.
There were rumors that the Xperia Z4 will go the way of the Google Nexus 6 and go with a humongous 6.2-inch screen. If these touch digitizer images are close to legit, then we can see that the Xperia Z4 might just copy the screen size of the current flagship, which is at a more handy 5.5 inches.
Studying the screen layout of this purported Z4 leak, it carries a few differences to the Xperia Z3. First up, the proximity sensor and front facing camera positions have been reversed, with the Xperia Z4’s earpiece raised to the top edge of the screen face. From this layout, we can’t do anything but speculate on the rumor that the Xperia Z4 will still feature dual loudspeakers – maybe at the bottom edge a la the LG G2?
In our opinion, the more realistic date for launch, if ever, would be in March at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona. Note that Samsung has probably lined that up as the launch date of the Samsung Galaxy S6 as well. January is a stretch, but if Sony does it – it’s just crazy.

that makes looking forward to it!
This is not a rumor. Its misinformation. The supposedly Z4 screen shown here is actually the screen for the Xperia Z3V The Xperia Z3 version for Verizon network in the USA. You can tell by the top and bottom of the screen dips in where the ear piece and microphone/speakers are. Look up the Xperia Z3V and you will see the screen is identical to this. Who ever posted this was wrong in their assumption. For some unknown reason the Z3 for Verizon USA is slightly different.
