If you’re tired of trying to figure out how to fit everyone in a “group selfie” shot or you’re still too embarrassed to bring out that “selfie stick” (it’s a monopod, really) when you need to take self-portraits, then this new Kickstarter project may just be what you need. You’ve already had point and shoot cameras, but the Podo may probably be the first stick and shoot one in the market right now, and it can help solve your selfie problems (and maybe add to other people’s problems though).

It is just what it sounds like. The Podo is a bluetooth camera that you can stick anywhere you want to help you take pictures of yourself (and others) that can’t be done simply by using your phone’s camera. It is re-stickable, re-washable and re-usable and is synced to your phone through the Podo App. It has 8 megapixels which is not bad for a regular camera, it can also take 720p HD videos, and it has 4GB of internal storage . It can basically stick to any solid surface (windows, walls, poles, vehicles, etc. The camera has three modes: photo, video, and auto (time-lapse or time intervals).

You can see a live preview of your shot through the Podo App that you can download on your smartphone. Adjust the people or adjust the camera’s position to take the picture just the way you want it. After taking the picture, your Bluetooth connection will automatically transfer the image to your smartphone, which should just take a few seconds (and there’s even some animation to keep you company). It will save to your gallery, and now you can add captions or adjustments to the photo. Then, if you feel like it (which you almost always do), you can upload the photo directly to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr.

The Kickstarter project has already reached its goal of $50,000 but there are still 48 days to go until their campaign ends. You can pledge as low as $79 to get your very own Podo. Expected delivery date is August of this year.
